What's under your desk just now?

I have a rather ugly rug, a plastic box, and all 8 Chobits manga volumes. There's also some sunflower seed shells, my shoes, the computer itself, and some DVDs. A handful of folders, maps for a BYOND project, programming notes, concept art and the trap-door that leads to where "it" lives.

Well, no trap door but I can dream can't I?

So tell me, whats under your, probably more tidy than mine, desk?

It does hurt to loose a pet, I have been through it myself, had to make some hard decisions on a dog I had for many years, you will heal through time. Hang in there.

Now, back to the subject, I cleaned under my desk, the only thing there is the surge protector and an occasional cat that likes to rip my feet up if I move them, LOL.

No, not meant to be sarcasm.Just trying to be funny. You guys are to nice to be sarcastic too. I had my favorite Schnauzer to be hit in the road.We let him out for a run and we were right in the yard He got out of our site and ended uop in the road. Another one that was his puppy, cause the mate was pregnant at the time the time he was killed, was hit late at night when he got off his chain.I have lost so many dogs I am terrified to let this one out of the house. We cannot afford to fence the yard. I take her out with a leash mostly even though we live in a rural area.

Yes, thats true .The cars that come by here go about 70,some faster than that. I am always looking for animals when I drive. I had one person to run over a cat we had and they did find us and call us .It was a neighbor. One woman even got out of her car and pulled our puppy, we had that got run over ,into our drive way then called us later to tell us she found it and it was hit by a truck, not her. But no, most people will not say anything. We have lost so many.So have our neighbors. I know we should not even have dogs or cats here, but our daughetr just has to have them .I love a little house dog that does not shed.A giant Shnauzer is a bit much ,sounds like a stampede running in the house...lol

It sickens me when I see any animal hit on the road, I have never (knock on wood) hit a deer or any other wild life except for a bird that flew into me, I could do nothing about it. I would freak if I would hit a deer, I absolutely hate to see an animal that has been hit and not killed. Me and a friend had to take a kitten to the human society one day because somebody hit it and mangled its back side, they ended up putting it down. The best thing for it would have been to finish it off, but I could not with her in the car, she was freaking out. I know it sounds mean, but it was obviously not going to make it. We have stopped and put deer down too that were really mangled and suffering. It breaks my heart every time, but I can not see letting them there to suffer.

We have nursed an owl and a hawk back to health and rescued a baby deer whose mom was dead on the road, the little guy was only a few days old and would not have made it on his own. We brought him home until the game warden and his wife, (good friends of ours) came and took him to a deer petting zoo where they had a surragate doe that would feed him and keep him as her own. He is doing great today, but if we would have left him out there, he would have been hit or wolves would have gotten him that night. I bought milk replacer and a bottle, and we kept the little squirt happy until they came for him. I keep a bottle and milk replacer here now. LOL.

I was going to the store one night and past by our gate and in the ditch was a deer who had been hit by a car and left to die. I drove back and told my husband and he went and shot it .I went on to the store after i told him ,cause I cannot stand things like that either.I would never survive in the wild cause I could never hunt for food. I also took care of a baby deer once.We tried to place it back in the wild but it hunted me down.lol I also cringed every time I see a dead animal on the road. I was driving to the store another time and it was dark, so i did not see the dead deer in my lane till I was to near to stop.My car is very low on the ground,I yelled and gripped the wheel tightly and straddled the deer and only felt a slight bump.I was really surprised it did not tear up my car. Once I remember some people out here on our road hit a deer and got it stuck underneath their car.
