I'm not switching sides but I can certainly understand that even an insured needs to be able to understand their rights and can easily be screwed over by their own insured. There are good insurance companies and ones that don't operate above-board. There are good adjusters and those that are bad. I just can't sit idle when someone comes along and acts like they can automatically make the settlement for any claim "500%"higher then the (initial) offer. I guess is someone actually believes that they they _should_ seek the service of a PA... as they would believe _anything_. Might as well get screwed by the PA's fees while they are at it.

Keep in mind that any _initial_ offer made by an adjuster is based on the information they have available at the time. When it comes to property and especially large property losses, this is usually incomplete or inaccurate information (items missing, not accounted for, items not yet replaced, etc). So if course the "initial offer" is going to be low. But this does not mean the insured could not easily get the amount increased. It's PA's like the OP that act like they have some great power that really rubs me the wrong way.

As far as I am concerned you can all belive the insurance company is going to pay you the "RIGHT" amount but how do you know?? and how are you going to provoke the adjuster to write a larger estimate?? Best of luck to all the brainwashed non believers. Until you run into a "GREEN" adjuster and there are MANY "GREEN" adjusters out there; then you will finally understand the need to have an adjuster on your side. Its amazing how far the heads of some of you are up the insurance companies azz'z - WAKE UP! The insurance companies job is to pay you the least amount possible - You have to look no further then Lousiana to see this!
