I want to know if buying cancer policy is a good idea or not. I've recently come to know about an aflac cancer policy from my workplace but before buying one I'd like to hear it from people who have used it or have any kind of experience with Aflac.

Thanking in advance.

If you have a cancer policy that you have not "updated," don't be fooled into thinking that you have taken the steps you need for good coverage. My father, who has had a cancer policy with AFLAC for 35 years, has just been diagnosed with cancer. The TOTAL amount they are willing to offer as assistance will not pay even 50% of one month's copay for his meds! He'd have come out better to stuff that money in his sock drawer. What a shame and what a sham!

Just wanted to chime in. My mom was recently diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and she's doing just fine. She has to get chemo every month for 6 months. Someone at her work advised her to get the Aflac cancer policy beforehand. She can still work, she is on a health insurance plan, so the huge check in the mail that comes every month from Aflac puts us in a -very- good spot, whereas we would have been struggling quite a bit without it.

If it weren't for my mom's employer telling her to get this policy we would be in a world of hurt. But right now we're really relieved and life is great. Thanks to AFLAC! WOO!

I have had the policy for 15 yrs. My husband was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 4 years ago. We have never had any hastle with getting the money that is stated in our policy...first time diagnoses, surgery, anesthesiolist, room, travel...we got a check for it all. I also send in the proof of pap or mammogram and my husbands PSA every year and we get money for those. No complaints from me.

Do you know the name of the insurance company? We don't. If you do, contact them -- they all have toll-free telephone numbers.

A friend of mine just had skin cancer and AFLAC sent him 1800 dollars and he may get more with travel and lodging expenses. I am submitting some claims myself i will see if they go good soon but i can say the reps are very helpful and really try to help you out.

I have had an Aflac Cancer policy that we took out years ago. In 2007, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I get screened every six months and take Tamoxifen, which I have to take for five years, I am three and a half years into to it. Does anyone know if Aflac pays for screenings or the prescription Tamoxifen. I hate reading fine print, LOL. Thanks
