I want to know if buying cancer policy is a good idea or not. I've recently come to know about an aflac cancer policy from my workplace but before buying one I'd like to hear it from people who have used it or have any kind of experience with Aflac.
Thanking in advance.

I would highly recommend it!
If you are talking about the general concept of having a cancer-only policy before one is diagnosed with the disease, that is a matter of personal preference.
The most recent question asked whether a person can obtain a cancer-only policy AFTER being diagnosed with the disease. The answer to that question, as previously stated, is NO.

Aflac in general is an amazing company. They have great products and they back everything in writing. I have the family cancer plan and the accident plan. My husband has short term disability through his job. I have a large family and the accident and cancer plans pay for themselves every year. With the wellness benefits and the fact that my kids (all 4 of them) are accident prone and in every sport known to man. Our accident plan this year has paid for itself for the next 3 years. We have had stitches, and broken bones, and a concussion and foreign object in the eye. The cancer plan is amazing as well. Yes, it may be a personal preference, but I would still recommend a cancer policy from AFLAC. Considering that 1 in 4 people will get some type of cancer, it just becomes a matter of time before you need the policy. Get it before it is too late!

My dad had a cancer policy he had forgotten about. Diagnosed w/colon cancer years later. He remembered 5 years later he had the policy. Short version, we submitted basic paperwork. Got $7000 three weeks later. No hassles.
I had short term disability under both maiden and married names. Nobody caught it because the way our HR department codes things. Didn't know it until I broke my back jumping wake on jet ski. Both premiums were current. AFLAC paid on both policies without any fuss.
They even pointed out that I had a similar situation with my cancer policy and should cancel either individual or married, my choice and they refunded the premium from date of duplication. (Too bad it took my company more than a month to get the money to me, as it had been pre-tax, it had to go thru my company)
However, I am reviewing my policies right now because 27 hours or work per week may cut into my "insurance habit" Between insuring my spouse and myself we're spending over $200/mo for 5 AFLAC policies. Trying to figure out what I should cut.

Do all Aflac cancer policies offer preminum installment refunds after so many years?

No.

Their claim policy is both confusing and onerous. I decided after surgery for skin cancer, it was not worth it. A friend in the insurance industry no longer sells these policies, as corporate policy was not to assist policy holders with the claim process. Enter with your eyes wide open.

Apparently AFLAC can make errors. I am insured with AFLAC under my wife's policy. I yearly get a PSA and receive $75 for AFLAC for the screening. However, this year my wife got a mamogram. We filed for the Screening $75 and were told we had already used the yearly screening total. They simply forgot that my wife is the primary policy holder and entitled to her own screening benefit. Oops.
