Who offers life insurance for 80 year olds?

My mother is 84 years old and in pretty good shape for her age. We have no insurance to help with home going services though, when she leaves us. We just want to be able to provide a decent resting place for her without hassle; but she won't make the arrangements..

There aren't many 84-year-old people in good health, but we've had a few clients who would still qualify for standard rates at that age, believe it or not. An 84-year-old woman can get $50k of coverage guaranteed forever for ~$4,200 per year. Will she live past the age of 96 when she will have paid up the entire death benefit is the gamble...

its really a gamble.who will take the chances for that.

Someone who thinks they'll win that gamble....like I said, it's not common, but it does happen.

I was just looking at the price of a FE policy on a Female age 84, 10k. It would cost her $129.53/month. At that rate she pays $1554.36/year. She would pay in the 10k in 6.43 years. So if she reaches 90, she's just about at the break-even point.

Hi Guys

I heard final expense policies usually don't need you to undergo any health examination? Jacksonfinancial can correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't know much about this. You only pay a premium and the benefits are received by the funeral home. This type of insurance can be a little expensive because they let you choose the type of casket, service accessories and so forth. You can give it a thought if you are willing to spend some extra cash

I think there is not any insurance Company in world to give insurance policy to 84 year old Person. They can give it but they taking very hard medical test other viz they not going to loose.

Thank you,
Very much.

Not true buckisaa, here's a couple...UTA and Loyal American. There are more if you really want to know that bad I'll take the time to look them up.

Sil, you are getting two different things mixed up. Yes, Final Expense doesn't make you go through a medical exam but does ask questions that you have to qualify for. Some applications are broken down into 2 or 3 parts and if you make it through the 1st part, you go on to the 2nd and so forth, the further you get the better rates you get.
It does not have to go to a funeral home unless you name the funeral home as beneficiary.

heu buck !! why you are confusing here!! because we are talking here about the FE insurance policy and you are here again telling about the life insurance policy. All the boardmembers do know that it is difficult rather not advisable to go for a life insurance policy.

here members are discussing about the FE insurance policy now at this current moment.

Oh I see :) I have limited knowledge on FE. TRK3031962 I am curious as to how do you qualify for FE? I mean when the OP says

We just want to be able to provide a decent resting place for her without hassle;

does it mean that they can pay for the funeral and get reimbursed from FE? Or do they designate a funeral home to take care of the final rituals and then the money goes to the funeral home as reimbursement?

At 84 if you are in a good health condition, would you qualify for FE?

Hi Super Agent,

try for Colonial Penn..

Can you give us an idea of how the premium would be for someone in 80s?
If the cost would be too high with CP, then probably they won't like to go for it.
