Tips to remember when writing an insurance letters

Format for any insurance cancellation letter is the same. It simply means that you are providing the necessary information to your insurance company in a systematized style.

Following are the basic information needed to write your insurance cancellation letter. Before you begin with the letter keep these information handy. They are:
  • Your name and address (as on your insurance documents)
  • Your insurance policy number
  • Your mobile or any other telephone number
  • Your insurer's name and address
  • Date on which you would like the insurance to end
  • Reason why you want to cancel your policy (might not be needed in many cases)
  • Effective policy dates (although the insurance company will have it, but it would still be a good idea to include)

actually i have to cancel my insurance policy which i have paid it in advance to make policy to insurance company and now i m not interested to make the policy as because my program of purchasing vehicle is postponed , so want my money refunded by cancelling the policy.
kindly suggest the format of letter to Insurance company .

I read the sample letter(cancellation). Where specifically in the letter are you suppose to put in your contact details? This information is not included in the sample letter. I hope you can assisst me in this regard.

Just take a print of the cancellation letter given in the beginning of this thread and copy the letter in paper filling out all your personal info.

At the end of the letter after your address, you can add your contact number.

Make sure that your policy number is given correctly. This is where your insurer will get all your personal info and get back to you.

Also don't forget to keep a photocopy of the letter with you as a document.
