hi, I'm facing real problems after getting involved in an accident where it was the other driver's fault. His insurance company is causing me all sorts of harassments. I have been advised to subrogate my claim under the $250 deductible collision by my insurance agent. How do I tackle this situation ?

hey Ralphie, your insurance co. may take actions for you following this subrogation clause of your auto insurance policy. Once you file your claim under your collision, your insurer assigns an adjuster who'd tell you how much you may expect for the damages and you may choose the repair shop. Once you pay the $250 worth of deductible then the rest would be paid by the insurance co. But thats fixed upto the amount agreed in between. So don't you worry.

hey but onething ! Under subrogation, your co. might just seek for legal revenge from the co. covering the driver at-fault by demanding heavy reimbursement. So cutting the crap, you get the $250 worth of deductible back only once your insurance co. gets its money from the co guiding the offender. Again that procedure might take a longer time than you hope ! sasha

By the way tell me onething...were you the only one inside your car at that time?? or was there anyone else with you ?? did anyone got injured ?? Am asking these questions since there are a lot of possibilities still to be considered. Also remember that when in an accident you sh'd always look forward to the at-fault company rather than filing with your own company and then waiting for them to do something for you...got it ? hope you understand my point !
