I have pre-existing Neurocardingenic Syncopey and Low Blood Pressure. I'm looking for good health insurance. I've been looking in to Cinergy but I havent been hearing good things. Please suggest some Health Insurance companies that will cover those two things. I have already used Humana and Blue Cross. Thank You

Hi Sassy1,

I have already used Humana and Blue Cross.

I don't think these carriers had agreed to cover these conditions knowing that they already existed. I'd rather believe that you got diagnosed of such problems during your coverage tenure.
So why would anyone agree to cover you for these 2 conditions now?

I'm not saying that you won't manage to have any health insurance. I'm just trying to point to the fact that insurance carriers would only cover for unforeseen risks.

They won't cover us for risks that are already there. That's the way they work!

Good for you that you decide to get or apply for health insurance. But before you apply for any insurance, make sure that the company have a license and it's legal.

:? This thread has gone completely south. It's making no sense whatsoever, so let me shed some light if I may.

The underlying problem is that there are several pre-existing conditions that insurers aren't thrilled about.

I don't think these carriers had agreed to cover these conditions knowing that they already existed. I'd rather believe that you got diagnosed of such problems during your coverage tenure. So why would anyone agree to cover you for these 2 conditions now?

I agree with Steven's comment. There are only a couple of states that don't allow insurers to exclude for pre-existing conditions ("pre-x") , and that applies only if the carrier actually issues the policy. Not one state has a requirement that an insurer actually issue an individual medical expense policy.

States that do allow exclusions for pre-x will only allow the exclusion to remain in place for a period of time after the effective date of coverage. Depending on the situation, the ability to claim creditable coverage under HIPAA (another story altogether), and the state where you live, carriers are typically allowed to exclude coverage for pre-x anywhere from 6 to 18 months after coverage begins.

Please remember that NO STATE REQUIRES an insurer to ISSUE an individual medical expense policy.

I don't think that a carrier will issue a new policy, but I could be wrong. If possible, group coverage through your employer would be best, but I have a feeling that's not an option here.

Last resort, every state has some sort of insurance pool for people who can't get insurance through normal channels. Let me know what state you're in and I'll point you in the right direction.
