Settlement Help!

I was in an accident that totaled my truck back in December 08. I’ve been trying to do a little research on settling a claim without a lawyer, but there are so many loop holes I want to make sure I don’t miss any. The claim is against State Farm. I was 100% not at fault, and the other driver was issued a citation. I only sustained “soft tissue” injuries and was released from physical therapy about three months ago now. My medical expenses total approx. $5900 loss wages: $376 misc. expenses: $500. State Farm paid off my truck, that totaled $20,900 and they issued a equity check to me for approx. $475. But the accident was a major inconvienence, it happened on Dec. 10. I had to return the rental car on Dec. 26 so I couldn’t spend anytime with my family on Christmas or New Year’s. In Georgia the minimum coverage requirements are based on a 25/50/25 rule. I have been trying to get in touch with the adjuster for two months now. I have only called her three times because i dont want to sound too anxious to settle therefore decreasing my settlement, but the times i have talked to her she always says "i'm documenting paperwork from your physical therapy, as soon as im done ill call you and let you know how much we can pay you" I have yet to recieve a call from her. What should i do? How much should i expect to settle for?

Do you have all the medical documents that support your treatment? Do they amount to $5,900? Did the doctor express any possibility of sufferings for the future?

Hi smdrum,

You would be compensated for your entire medical expense along with future cost of treatment, lost wage and inconvenience. You may also receive reimbursement for the expenses that you have incurred travelling to and fro during visiting the doctor.

Now, have you tried contacting the supervisor of the adjuster since IMO she has been extremely lazy in settling the claim?

Also, what's the purpose of mentioning the following?

In Georgia the minimum coverage requirements are based on a 25/50/25 rule.
