Wow Orestano...that a pretty broad questions.

Here is the 2 best pieces of advice I can give you.

1) Know your business. To many agents sell insurance they don't understand. Spend the time to really learn your business. And then when you think you know go back and learn it again. This alone will put you ahead of most agents out there.

2) Find your niche. Every ultra successful agent has a niche. You won't have one when you start out (lets face it you will be looking for any client you can find at first), but as you progress you finding your niche is important.

Good Luck and welcome to the industry.

As a newly licensed agent, you are currently full of "head knowledge." You need to convert that to "heart knowledge" and speak with your prospects/clients from the heart.

Not only must you know and understand your products, you must know and understand your clients' needs so you can present the most appropriate products at the best price. That's one of your public responsibilities as a licensed agent.

And never, never lie to a client. EVER!

Find your niche. It is hard to be all things to all people. Discover what markets you like to cater to the most, i.e. - individual, family, business, senior, etc. And then hit the ground running.

Good luck, don't take life as an agent too seriously. Help people when you can. Forsake those you can't, at least until they come around. Remember, you will never be all things to all people.

It's the hardest business in the world to make $100,000 in, and the easiest to make a million.
