I am switching jobs, I will need to buy additional insurance. I am 53, non-smoker, diagnosed with HBP but has been controlled with medications for years. I also use a CPAP machines. No other health issues. My debts are about 125k with mortgage included. How much insurance should I have and what is the approximate cost? Lew

I hope the insurer would also take into account a lot of other factors while deciding about your coverage limit. Have you used any online quote form? I'm sure you'd get an estimate once you'd send quote requests through a couple of online quote forms. In doing so, you'd be able to compare and select the best offer for yourself.

These are questions that are best addressed with an agent or financial advisor. If you don't have one, start looking. The amount of questions we'd need to ask to come to a good recommendation is likely not something you want to go through on an internet forum.

Based on the high blood pressure and sleep apnea, you are likely looking at a standard issue at best, very possibly a rated (extra premium) underwriting decision.

It is best to contact an insurance agent and understand the terms and coverage of the policies before you choose to buy a policy. You can also do some research online by comparing different policies.
