General Lines - Property & Casualty License

In Texas, if you hold a GLA (General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty license) what job role/function is this? What do they, or what are they allowed to, do?
Also, is there a designation which can be added by your name?

Check what Texas insurance code §4051.051 allows you to solicit. The same applies when you employed to sell.

A General Lines Property & Casualty agent in Texas is licensed to sell property and casualty insurance (i.e. auto, home, business insurance). There isn’t a particular role assigned to that license, meaning the license holder could be an employee or a business owner.

The license alone does not qualify as a designation to be added to their name. As for designations, I would refer to the CIC designation issued by the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research or the CPCU designation issued by the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.
