i was making a lft turn on a semi busy street , car hit me on passenger side who would be at fault.

Determining the fault of the accident will be done by the claims adjusters. A few things they will look at are: Did the other car run a stop sign or stop light? Did you run a stop sign or stop light? Who had the right of way on the street? If you did not break any laws and had the right of way and the other vehicle did not they will be at fault. There are too many variables included in determining fault to give you a definite answer, but if you had the right of way the other driver should be at fault.

Mike is quite correct in depicting that there are quite a few variables to determine exactly who's at fault. It will depend largely on whether any of you got tempted to run a stop light or stop sign.
