Are there any insurance policies to cover my braces? How about the BlueCross BlueShield HMO?

There are two ways of going at it. Either you go for a discount plan or you go for a dental insurance.

If you're going for the insurance option, check out the worth of coverage that would be provided to you. If the user gets deterred from continuing with orthodontic treatments then it's actually of no good use.

Many group insurance plans will cover orthodontia to a limited extent. Most individual plans do not, or coverage is so limited that it has little true value.

An employer-sponsored HRA could be used to pay the expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Take a look at the policy features and be sure of the copay or deductible that you'd need to pay. Braces insurance would only cover you beyond this copay or deductible.
