It is a life insurance product which is just intended to pay that particular purpose only. The coverage is available with a low sum assured value. It is also known as burial/funeral insurance. One can arrange the details of the funeral with this coverage.

The policy covers costs like, Cremation, Burial vault or grave liner, Flowers, Digging and filling the grave, Hearse and other funeral vehicles.

In fact, the amount of life insurance you need depends on a number of factors such as:

Final Expenses (funeral, burial, hospital/doctor bills), Taxes, Bereavement, Supplemental Income, Retirement expenses.

And the cost of funeral expenses depends on the circumstances and not on the died person. By having a life policy you are ensuring the cost of funeral expenses.
