Which 'type' of Hep do you have? That will make some difference...let us know and we can see what we will find out..

A recent blood test revealed that it's Hepatitis-C.

Oh Burger, I'm so very very sorry, I was afraid that's what you were going to say, (I unfortunately know A LOT about Hep C) ...First off, get into a good 'liver' doc that specializes in Hep, and get started on some of the newer drugs...I want to say (spelled wrong I'm sure) "inner (or enter) furon" is one of them? I have two friends that this has helped significantly with it, have another who took some sort or experimental chemo that also 'stopped' his...I have another friend who has been diagnosised for five years without any change, and really no symptoms...as you know Hep C doesn't EVER go away (even with a transplant) ....but many are not as affected as others...I don't know your age, general health or what part of the country you are in but in my area KU medical center (Kansas city, KS) has a terrific liver center, also Leed's in Omaha, NE...

As to your original question...I'd try and find some of those, 'we ask no health questions or exam' policys....any that require this (health related questions) will definately not take you on as a risk.(and don't lie because they will find out and deny the claim which would be devasting to your family)..if you buy one of these policys during the 'free look' period (all life policys have them they are at least 30 days maybe more) be sure and read it cover to cover...if there is an exclusion that will keep them from paying cancel it during the free look (you will then get all your money back) and find another...hopefully some agents will pop in on this thread and can steer you to some of those companys...

How is your health now? Are you ok? Is your family dealing with this ok? You do understand there are precautions you need to take to insure you do not infect anyone right? You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers, Please don't hesitate to ask anything we may be able to assist you with....

Oh, i know what you are talking about Lori, Interferon. There's alot of new discoveries in integrative health too. You should talk with your physician about some intagrative techniques, mabye they can be of some help Burgerkingsize.

Lori, what about the high-risk life insuance comapnies? Wouldn't there be any out there that would specialize in situations like this?

Hi friends,

I think that the sources of getting Hepatitis-C could actually be many.
Some of these could really affect your chances of getting a life insurance. Your desired insurance carrier would certainly inquire you about your ALT, AST as well as GGLP levels. If you've had any liver function tests, your carrier would definitely ask you regarding the levels and the current status.

In addition to all these if you're an alcohol consumer, your carrier won't like to offer a coverage. So, please collect all these information (if required go through your personal health file) before you'd reach out to your carrier.

Boy I don't know but I doubt it..

RE: Hep C... (I'm resisting the urge to go nuts  )...My step father had a quad heart bypass in 1981...in 1995 we found out he had hep C...He passed away holding mine, and my mom's hand, two years ago next month..He had been on a liver transplant list at two hospitals for more than 5 years....Hep C, is not always contracted by hazardous living...easily could have been me...I was given blood when my son was born, April of 1981.

My point? Let's NEVER rush to judgement about 'why' or 'how' someone got a disease. and certainly NEVER assume, it was their fault...

Lori, Im SO SORRY to hear that. I hate it when ANYBODY contracts a condition, no matter what way, but especially when its thru having surgery. You were a very GOOD daughter to have been there for your dad, in this day-and-age of children holdin' out for the "jackpot" (inheritence).

I do remember a long time ago of hearing some people to get coverd by high-risk term life insurance and were HIV + :?:
