GEICO Referral Programs

by jdeane4 » Wed Aug 20, 2008 03:39 pm

I work for Geico Insurance as a claims adjuster. Our company is running a GEICO referral program for it's employees to see who can get the most Insurance Rate Quote Referrals. We get various prizes for the number of referrals that we give. All the rate quotes are free and take about 5 minutes to get. If you call in and get a quote, you don't have to sign up for a policy. The only requirement for the contest is that I refer someone to a rate quote. Here's the thing: I just need some you guys to call in to GEICO at 800-342-9070 and when you get the quote, mention the Promotional Code: 130552. Again, you don't have to actually sign up for a policy, just a quote with that promotional code. Hopefully I will climb to the top as the highest rate quote referrer. If the quote is right, maybe we could even win your business.

Thanks to all of you who help me out!

Geico referral program sounds like employee theft at its most basic level. How much do you think it costs Geico for an 800 number call? I don't think your idea was well thought out.

So, does that mean they're trying to steal employees and/or lying?

You really should have stayed in school.

Doesn't really sound good for a giant like Geico!
Attempts like the geico referral program are truly short-term attempts & I see no reason why you should really climb at the top with such efforts as this. I'd simply like to have an opportunity to explain to you as to what Geico is trying to do over here. They are simply spreading a message through these rate quotes that all the prospects could now avail lower quotes than their immediate competitors if they opt for this geico referral program . What they would check next would be the conversion rate for such attempts. If the rate is maintained at 5/10 they might decide at continuing it for some more time...on the other hand if (it falls below) your dreams of making it big would be shattered till the next campaign come up! Sorry jdeane4, but I find this, A) hard to believe, and B) quite unprofessional and frankly ballsy to post this on a board where you know NO ONE have never been here before and want total strangers to do you a solid, and put a prize in your pocket! I'm frankly embarrassed for us as an adjuster if you truely are one, rather than an agent...

Yep, I'll be calling a friend of mine that's an adjuster for Gieco to check this one out, and hope they can figure out who you are....shame on you...

I received this quick message (not pm) from jdean

I do apologize if I embarrassed anyone. We are holding a contest within our company on rate quote referrals. If this matter is seen to be unprofessional, I will gladly retract my post if I am able to. I do not want to stir a fuss with anyone or bring negative attention to my company. All I wanted to do was let people know about our customer referral program which does benefit the associates for each referral they get. Again, I would gladly retract this post if you would be willing to take it off this board as I feel I have made an obvious mistake posting this. Thank you for your understanding.

and my response...

That's fine J and I accept your apology, it's just that I'm also an adjuster (with 20 plus years experience)...and for that to be your FIRST post..well, it appeared pretty self serving...sorry we got off on the wrong foot...I'll leave the post, and put your note in the thread as well... to show you are one of the ''good'' ones after all... ! Hope you will stick around and lend support by participating in this community...we could use another adjuster...we get quite a few Gieco specific questions....also you can make a little money while posting! thanks again, I do truly appreciate your message!
