about income tax rules under sec 80c

i am a retired person & my spouse is a housewife i want to take life insurance on the of my wife. please tell me that i can take tax benifit by proposing my wife under sec 80c

It seems that you are from India (sec 80 C) you can claim for the sec 80 c tax benefit but one thing is that r u having that much taxable income.

If your taxable income is crossing beyond 2.5 lacs p.a. (as per current tax laws) then you can go for sec 80 c.surely you will get tax deduction benefit.
( i mean then only there is some point to go for tax benefit)

I am a retired senior citizen aged 67.If I take lifeinsurance policy for my wife aged 58 am I eligible for deduction of max rs of 100000/annum under 80c in my tax return?
