Hail damage claim from almost 2 years ago - Trying to get the recoverable depreciation and probably will need to request increase in claim amount. No work done yet. I know it is my fault for waiting so long so I cant blame anyone but myself.

Thanks for any information on this

My questions are:
1-Is there a deadline for getting the recoverable depreciation?
2-Is there a deadline for getting an increase to the adjusters estimate?
3-Does the work have to be finished, started, or contracted by the dead line to get either?

What steps can I take to get my insurance company help me pa

My renters smoked meth in my house. They were arrested and one of them is still in jail pending a criminal trial. There is a child care center within 1 block of the house. Remediation has cost me approximately $16,000 including professional cleaning, painting, replacement of carpets, ceiling fans, blinds, etc. I filed a claim with my insurance company. They said they have no financial responsibility here. I think this cost should be covered. What can I do next?

This damage was the result of a tornado and the land around the home was so damaged that I decided it would be unwise to rebuild the house because of the surroundings would diminish the value of the home and it would not be worth what it would take to repair the damage. My question is how much do I have to spend on the new property in order to recover the amount the insurance company withheld for depreciation?

When you have major damage to a property and decide to buy another property instead of rebuilding the damaged property, how much do you have to spend on the new property in order to recover the amount withheld by the insurance company for depreciation?

Is my general contractor allowed to keep the recovered depreciation. She wrote it in contract. She says its part of her profit. But there is already a section noted where she will be making her 20% in overhead and profit.

Just because its written in contract and signed, am I held legally to that, even if she isn't supposed to collect that.

Keep a careful watch for roof damage

Just like a car, which can cost more to maintain than it does to actually buy it, your roof can cost you a lot of money to keep it in good shape. Roofs can develop a number of problems such as ice dams in the winter, leaks year round, and algae growth, to name just a few. You can save yourself a lot of money by catching and correcting these problems early rather than waiting until the damage is extensive and costly to repair. Because your roof is out of sight, it’s easy to not think about it as you go about your day.
