Non-matching brick in claim

A very large tree fell on our house and did over $150,000 worth of damage. Our house was built in 1925 and their is no brick that matches the existing brick. The insurance company claims they will not rebrick the whole house and they will only pay to patch with unmatched, miss-sized brick. This will ruin our historic home. Is there anything we can do?

My sister just got her loss check and papers in the mail for water damage and the mortgage company is on the check too. We are not sure if the adjustment is correct yet we are just calling contractors now but the mortgage company keeps calling and wanting to know why she hasnt signed the check and sent it so they can get it in escrow. Our question is if my sister signs the check and finds out it was too low amount for work done can she ask the insurance company for more. Also is it normal to have to pay the deduct before the recoverable is requested?

I just wanted to make sure that the depreciation portion of the payment by my homeowner's insurance for hail damage to my roof, window wraps, etc., that those monies paid for depreciation are supposed to be paid at the completion and passing of inspection of the job and that those monies go to the homeowner or do they go to the contractor that did the repairs?

I was up to date on my homeowners insurance when my house was foreclosed on and auctioned.

Two years prior we had a plumbing problem which flooded the house. I had a health problem at the time that made me bedridden and we didn't get the repairs at the time. Once I was at a point where we could have gotten the work done, they were beginning the foreclosure on us.

was issued a check from insurance carrier for a recent theft we had. while I agree with the deprecated percentages, we disagree on how they came up with the cost of the items. while we submitted pricing from local vendors and store, the insurance company uses a large buying group in a state far from us. They used the pricing the large buying group can buy things for then apply the depreciated percentages to that amount. we have the option to buy that item from that buying group, but would still end up paying the buying group if we buy more that what the check they provided will cover.

Insurance Claim Question

I filed an insurance claim on our roof over 8 years ago for hail and wind damage. I personally did not go on the roof, however was told it was not that bad of damage by the hail, however some shingles that were cracked should and were replaced.

Fast forward, so now after extreme heavy winds (60 mph average) about 30 shingles have torn off and blew away with many, many more loose. Is it appropriate to consider filing a new claim?

Hi, I have an insurance claim at my house that roughly looks like this:
Replacement Cost: $10,000
Depreciation: $4,000
Deductible: $1,000
Net: $5,000 Paid by the insurance company

My adjuster told me that in order for me to receive the depreciation, I had to have the work done, spend the depreciated amount and show that I owed the money for the remaining work.
