As a condo owner am I liable for water damage to other units

Guest

I had a leak from my apartment condo which was behind a wall so I never noticed it. The leak came from a corroded p-trap from a washer in my unit. When the water drained too quickly, it would back up – not into my unit – but behind a sheer wall and down into a condo below. The new owners of the condo notified me of the damage 10 days after they took title, but judging from the amount of damage- including mold, mildew, and mushrooms- the water began affecting their unit long before they took title. The downstairs unit had been vacant for 6 months and was part of an estate sale.

Why are my CreditKarma home and auto insurance scores Poor?

I’ve no clue what is wrong with my home and auto insurance scores!! My credit score is more than 700. I haven’t had a home insurance claim in the last 20 years; was involved in an accident but didn’t file a claim; instead paid for the damages. But both my home and auto insurance scores display “Poor”!! The description even says that the poor score reveals the likeliness of me filing a claim...Ridiculous! What the hell should I do with this?

Should I switch my current homeowners' insurance carrier?

My yearly homeowners’ insurance contract is about to expire next week on 30th October. I am planning to switch my carrier because most of the insurers provide low-cost insurance policies and later on increase their rates, citing people usually don’t like to switch. My roof is leaking and I want it to be replaced. Now, if I file a claim, then they will take more than two weeks to process it and there are chances of my claim getting rejected since I have switched companies. Is it really so? Or would it be better for me to wait till I completely switch off to a new carrier?

My husband had to leave due to deployment in 2012 for 8 months. Before he was deployed, he took a storage unit on rent. The storage unit was full and there was no room left to put our 46 inch TV into that. We kept the TV with one of his colleagues who was also deployed with him at his garage. During their deployment, the colleague claimed that somebody stole the TV along with some of his personal belongings.
