The water heater is connected to house water by two spiral copper pipes. There was a small hole developed in one pipe. We went on vacation for 2 weeks. When we came back, there was water everywhere. Can we file claim for water leak due to small hole in water heater pipe?

Am I committing any insurance fraud?

I live in PA and recently my house suffered from hail damage. I have a large deductible ($4k) and I filed my insurance claim. The insurance company sent out one contractor and one adjuster to assess the damage. The contractor's assessment (the day before yesterday) was about $5k damage and only one side of siding needs to be replaced (no roof damage). Yesterday, a storm chaser convinced me that he should talk to the adjuster on my behalf and argue for replacing at least half of the roof. My adjuster came today and inspected the damage.

I’ve recently shifted to a rented apartment with my wife and have left my father’s house. I have procured a renters insurance after we came down here. I was just wondering if the insurance would cover for damages due to any vandalism when the car is parked within the apartment.

This is more of an informational post that a question.

As a property claims adjuster who has handled 1000's of losses, one of the most common questions I get from insureds is "will my policy pay for my tenants to stay in a hotel due to a covered loss?". That answer is NO!

Most people believe that because they have a Landlord type policy that it will cover their tenants as well. If you are a landlord and you rent a home to tenants they are not a named insured under your policy and their personal items and losses are not covered.
