Can our home insurance drop us for a bad roof?

Our insurance company dropped us and our lender telling us that they’ll get us ne insurance policy with way more coverage ($160,000). Our home is worth about $75,000 on this day. We got hold of it 9 years ago for $125,000; still paying the premiums; never been late and no equity build up…

Furniture insurance coverage!

I know it’s too long but please read and give me some advice. We bought a sectional few months back and the sales person told that if we got insurance on that then they would replace or fix if the leather tore or if anything happened to it doesn’t matter actually how or when. He actually promised us. And it tore and the insurance company asked us how. We told them the truth that we were moving the thing to our new home and then they said they won’t cover as it was not in the residence.

House fire and contents insurance

We had a fire breakage in our house, which partly damaged the house but the contents of the house are all gone. The adjuster asked me to fill out a form with detailed information on everything in the home.

While cleaning the house, we took over 5 hundred pictures so it can be taken for granted that there were more than 600-700 goods in the home.

What I’m wondering is if I have a separate contents insurance and everything in the house is burnt up, should I just request them to gimme a check for the amount I’m insured?

Will homeowners insurance cover vacant house?

My grandfather passed away recently and now his house is lying vacant. We need some time to decide what to do with the property but of course, meanwhile we require insurance for it. Anyone having any idea what type of coverage would be good for a vacant property?

Home Insurance refund error

My home had damages last year due to a storm. Although the homeowners insurance and home are in both my husband and my name, the refund check came in his name only, he cashed it prior to being served with divorce papers and took off with the money.

When I questioned the insurer why the check only came in his name, they said the adjuster made a mistake and didn't look all the way on the computer screen, only picking up his name and not both. They said the check was already cashed and there was nothing they could do about it.

House insurance for stay at home mum

Looking to renew my house insurance and I seem to keep coming up against issues with the 'occupancy' question.

I am generally at home during the day - I work from home and have a DD about to start school. The house is however not NEVER unoccupied (school run, shopping etc) and also the odd trip away (under the 30 days or whatever it is - usually only a night or two at grandmas!)

Walls crumbling

My bathroom tiles came off and could not be put back. The wall board behind it crumbled due to water leakage constantly. Will the insurance pay for it?
