Disabled young man has Right of Habitation of grandmothers house (Louisiana). Mother was a 1/4th owner until her death in Dec. 2013. She left her 1/4th to her siblings. He pays homeowners insurance but uncle just put himself on policy as loss payee. Since the grandson is not an owner, why should he pay homeowners on a house that is not his but is mandated to keep up repairs to the house, but the Uncle would get the payout if a claim was made!

My TX property caught a fire and insurance company estimated $26K replacement cost - $8K depreciation cost = $18K net claim. Repair was done by contractor and I got this recoverable depreciation check of $8K, payable to me and contractor, wondering which party should keep it? and how can I deposit this check?
Do I get contractor to endorse the check, then I can deposit?

I had an insurance claim last year and only was able to get some of the work done due to weather, etc. Then, because of illness and other problems I gave my home back to the bank. I still have the rest of the money (less than $2000) and want to make this right. I don't know who I need to talk with. The mortgage company, the insurance company? I'm so afraid of handling it the wrong way. I need advice

For those who have followed some of the threads on insurable interest, or the absence of the same, and don't believe that insurable interest is a valid, enforceable concept, take a look at this appellate decision that upholds the insurance company's right to void a policy for no insurable interest.

had to have knee replacements on both knees. Came to Nevada to have my daughter take care of me until I could walk on my own again. My home owners is threatening to drop me because they say i am a seasonal occupant. I am home at my Florida residence unless I needed surgery. Can they drop me if i have medical paperwork showing i had surgery and needed to be out of my house to be taken care of until healed. Plus they have still been taking payments even though they claim they dropped me in December
