Hi, I had a house fire and used the insurance companies "preferred contractor", 6 months later I had to terminate that contractor for failure breach of contract and failure to complete home in satisfactory condition. Four years ago, we filed a hail damage claim. The adjuster came out and said the roof needed to be replaced. My insurance covered 10,000. The roof guy did not replace it because he said it wasn't enough to cover the cost, so instead he did repairs. Yesterday we had a huge hail storm and now our roof has huge indents and my gutters are damaged as well. I have heard you can't get pay for the same claim twice, but we did use the money to repair the roof. Can I file a claim?

Hi,
I bought a house with gas stove connected to a propane tank. The same small propane tank uses for a garden grill. The tank is outside and it is connected to stove in the kitchen by a pipe.
This is a convenient solution for me because I can change tank easily and the cost is smaller than if I would use an electric stove.
I am trying to figure out if this is against codes/insurance rules. Can someone answer me if in case of fire in my house insurance company would not honor and cancel the claim because of this?

So just bought a new condo and started the demo of the kitchen to put a new one in. Contractor sees mold along drywall/subfloor, pulls all of that back to see water seeping through the brick exterior wall, Washington, D.C. just finished about a week of heavy rain. While they are seeming to take responsibility since it's coming from a common element, how far does that responsibility go? This is about an 8 foot stretch of a total 30 foot outside wall, and my contractor (and I agree) feels that there is no way we got lucky and this is the only part of the outside wall leaking.
