if i expunge it or seel it will it still be a issuse with the state?

While sealing/expunging a conviction will conceal it from view by most parties, it will not conceal it from state or federal authorities. They may not be able to "see" into the case file, but they will be able to find evidence of the conviction.

Your event should not be an issue as a misdemeanor. It simply needs to be disclosed. Contact your state's Dept of Insurance and discuss the matter with them directly.

I have a misdemeanor drug abuse charge in Ohio from 7 years ago. Do you think this would affecy my chances of obtaining a license?

Were you charged or convicted? If convicted, you have to disclose this fact, but unless the conviction was for a distribution offense, it will not interfere with your licensing (assuming the rest of your background is clean).

I have a couple different counts on my record dating close to 7 years back...theft in a business setting/personal setting, theft in a store, and I have had bad checks. No felonies. I have to take my exam in the next week, Should I just stop my studing? Is it worth it? I really was hoping this was a 'break' for me...but after reading chapter 12 I am afraid to continue. Please give me advice A.S.A.P.

I believe I was charged and convicted. I have owi and driving misd. The owi was in the last 3. Bad checks were recent. All theft was about 7 years ago, but no felonies.

What is a distribution offence? Please.

A "distribution" offense is like Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Normally a felony.

Your chances of being licensed are not the greatest. Failure to disclose 100% of your criminal and civil problems will cause you you to lose your chance of being licensed.

I was convicted of theft/fraud of a credit card about 14 years ago and have had no other offenses since. I was sent to a hospital where it was determined that I was suffering from Bi-Polar Disorder but being treated for depression at the time of the offense. I am now on the correct medications. Do I stand a chance of getting a license to sell insurance in SC?
